I'm reading everyone's kidding threads, and looking at their baby bump photos, to try to guess how many my girls are going to have.

1st there's Rosie and Iris. They are due 5/5. Not really enormous like some does, but very heavily pregnant. Last year was their first time. They only kidded singles. It was really hard even in the end to tell that they were preg.

Then there's Stella she is due 6/29 and is already really big. I know there are multiples in there.
This is also her second freshining. The first time she also had a single.

So, The question is, Do most does look bigger the second time around just because it's their second time? Or do I need to be ready for a whole lot of kids.

No, I don't think so. I've found no correlation in size and the number mine have had. In fact, I've got two that have quads in the past and have been no larger than some with twins.
Others may have had a different experience, but that's been my experience.

Our Trixie had a single her first freshening and didn't look too big. This year before kidding she looked bigger than last year, and had a single again. With goats it's always a guessing game and most of the time we're wrong! :barnie

I'm still waiting on Heidi. She's huge. :caf

I would've guessed Annie had triplets, but she had twins. Everyone seems to have fewer this year for us and we've had mostly bucklings, thus ruining Oreo's doeling record.
