An exp. goat person is coming out to disbud Millie's lil kid today.
I have always just let them have horns, but since getting Diego I am thinking goats with horns may not be such a good idea.
He does not use them on us or other goats. He uses them to manipulate electric fence. He can escape in a wink without a shock.
This lady only charges ten bucks. I don't know but I think that is reasonable.
So this will be my first lesson. I hope its not too bad.

For most goat breeds, im pretty sure that you cant show them unless they are disbudded, ... or in the case or my goat, naturally polled.
If you just have backyard goats, im sure they are fine, but its so much easier to sell a goat once its disbudded... or if it doesnt have horns. Because a lot of people raise them for show.

It didn't. She thought he looked polled.
But I have to get ahold of her again because the little horns are popping out.
I'm thinking that I am going to get my own iron once I see it done.

I do my own. My breeder showed me how. It's really not that hard. I have also done a few for others.

Boots is all disbudded now. He took it in stride.
I'm waiting as long as possible to band him though. He is out there running with the herd chasing the girls around already. They look at him and I imagine they be thinking "Really" Go away ya little nerd. LOL
