According to the promise I made my husband, this is our very last goat purchase. We got the baby Nubian doe that we will eventually breed with our ND buck. She's just weaned and, as you can tell by the picture, not at all happy with the road trip. She's also not happy with her new home or her new pen mate. (She is currently sharing with Tripod.) I plan to take off early today and start spending a lot of time with her. I want her to really bond with us. She wasn't a bottle baby and it doesn't seem like she's had one-on-one with people time. Although she is very sweet and last night she kept putting her face right up against mine and sort of sniffing. Any suggestions on helping her attach to us would be appreciated. I want her to be a friendly mama and milker when the time comes and I know I need to start laying the foundation now.

No such thing as a very last goat...

And for those that own cats... I had a cat named Omega...the last. Well the next one we named Ocho and now Omega is just Mega.

Food works wonders. Even my goats that don't like to be messed with jump on the milk stand for grain.

She's a beauty! I agree with the threats, in moderation and loving attention. It sounds like she's quite tame though?

She has been with goats more than people but is warming up to us quickly. Wish i could say the same for the other goats. At two months shes as tall as they are already but is just a baby and it hurts to see them butt at her. I know thats what goats do but i dont like watching it.

It's like the chickens and their pecking order. I know they feel they have to do it, but it's still painful to watch.
