I have a Nubian doe that kidded one kid about 10 days ago. Since the baby was only drinking from one teat I started milking on day two to keep her even on both sides. Now when I milk her I am getting about 1 inch of milk in a quart jar and her udder seems to still be full. It looks like she still needs to be milked. Her udder is not hot. I milk by hand. Milk seems to be fine -- not stringy or clumpy or bloody. I have milked this doe on previous kiddings with a good amount of milk so I haven no idea what is going on now. Any ideas?

Warm compress and "butt" the udder to help let down. Sometimes you need to milk her and then go back a few minutes later. Some does try to "hold" the milk.

??, have a goat that I started milking about a week after kidding, milked out both sides completely, now one side seems quite a bit fuller each day. I still milk out both side completely. What do I need to do to get them even again?
