So, Nosie the lamb wasn't acting well yesterday. It took my dad to get her up. She went to nurse off of her mom who's udder looks like it might be prematurely drying up. She was given a bottle.
This morning she was flat out on her side again. My dad got her sitting and went to get something. When he go back she was "crawling" around using her front legs. This evening she is alert and behavior wise is acting pretty normal. She still couldn't stand although she did attempt to. She may have eaten a bit too much of her bottle as she did burp up some milk and was "whiney" afterwards
I had him check her eye lids and they are a healthy pink. I doubt potential starvation is the issue since she was eating alfalfa well and is three weeks old. I also don't think she was hit or stepped on since the not walking was developed and not present initially.
Right, now I'm leaning towards white muscle. Our area does technically fall into a selenium defecient area accourding to US geological something or another. We have never had an issue with white muscle and have never really heard anything about it from other sheep producers in our area.
I'll be taking her to the vet tomorrow when I get home from school.
