Ok this year I am using my cream separator. I finally (I think) have my settings where I like. I ran through 1 1/2 gallons of milk last night from the goats that are only 6 weeks freashened and I got a pint of cream. I am happy with the amount but is that a good amount. I have oberhasli that I am getting a half a gallon a day with once a day milking. I am satisfied with the amount of milk I am getting a day as we can't use it all and I don't have the time to do something with it everyday. I guess my question is is that a good amount or will I be getting more as I get further into their lactation?

If you get any cream from goat milk you are doing good. So now I have to ask the details on the separator and is it hard to clean?

You may get more and you might not, they usually peak at about 8 weeks.

I don't find them hard to clean...not really much there that would be difficult if you do it right away. Thanks for the input.

May I ask what brand you have? I have heard so many reports of ones that won't work on goat milk that it would be nice to know of one that does.

I got mine off Ebay from the Ukraine...I believe is was about $160 I am really pleased with it. There was a few adjustments but now that I have done that I love it.

If I'm not mistaken the folks from the Ukraine that make that cream separator actually joined the forum and put some information on here about it.

Iv'e got one of those. I haven't used it yet. Good to know it works so well. I would be happy with that much cream.
