My two does each had a kid within the past few weeks. The babies got disbudded today, so we will give CDT when my I get home. I will also give it to my does because they are due. When can we drink the milk after today?

I also have Ivermectin dewormer. When should I give that to the kids and moms. When can we drink the milk after that? And for ivermectin we gave it orally last time would you recommend this or should I do needle?

Also we plan on banding the buckling to keep for ourselves. When can I do this. I have also heard of giving him ibuprofen, should I when I do it or not?

Thanks so much for all the help!

We band around 10 weeks old
We have not given ibuprofen

CDT vaccine and I just looked and it says 21 days for slaughter milk is less but I don't know for sure

You should do fecals before you worm
Not sure of withdrawal for ivermectin but I would give orally

Have you ever had an accidental breeding? Fiasco Farms says they are fertile at 7 weeks. Should I worry at 7 weeks?

May have this year but the buckling was 11 weeks old
But if it happened it was a 14 month old yearling so she is old enough
@Pearce Pastures if Opal has a kid this fall I'm going to need a hair sample from Monty :)

I don't think you should worry at 7 weeks
They may be fertile at 7 weeks
But they can't achieve preputial separation which basically means extend their penis far enough out of the sheath (prepuce)

Thanks so much. This is only my second kidding season and my first season having a boy and girl kid. They are 5 and a half weeks, and I would be horrified if siblings mated and did so that young.

You definitely don't need to worry about siblings at that age
More an issue of the buckling breeding an older doe
Never seen any of our does show any signs of heat until 3 or even 4 months
Don't be concerned if you see him mounting her now either
They definitely do that at this age
