We started using nothing but Toltrazuril last year
I don't think there is anything better
One dose and no cocci
It's not USDA approved but in Canada the Bayer brand is Baycox
We order ours from a website in Panama but it's shipped USPS flat rate from FL:idunno

I had wondered if you went with it or not. I know you had used the dimethox before.
Glad you switched over and are liking it.

Alot of vets haven't heard of it. :idunno

We now use it as a "preventative". I think for many though it may be cost prohibitive if they only have a few goat kids a year. It expires 1 year after opening and comes in 200ml bottle and can be kinda pricey. At least the price has come down over the past few years.

Funny thing about expiration dates
Dr C told us we needed a new bottle of BO-SE because it expired in April
Dr Y told us his goats got nothing but expired meds because he could not give them to clients :)

Some meds just lose potency after awhile and it may/may not be an exact year...just a nice round number for the label. Other meds actually break down and become other things that might not only not work but aren't great for the goat. I am curious as to what impact time has on our cocci meds.

I like the idea of Baycox too. We use Dimethox because it is quick and easy to mix up and cheap. Were prices and availability of Baycox to be similar, I would go that route.

We had a half bottle left last year and used it... it did not do it's job so we immediately ordered a new one. New one worked fine.
This year we ordered ours early because they were expecting a shortage. I won't risk that again. We still keep a packet of Di-methox on hand as a just in case thing.

We got a new bottle this year too
We didn't try what we had left
Good to know it loses its effectiveness
