There is an ad right now on Raleigh CL
For a 3 year old, registered, blue eyed, polled Nigerian Buck
For $100 :ep

I hope the potential buyer
understands what CL positive means

At least they are honest

I see ads like that all the time. I think it is very upfront and if they are advertising it I would imagine they would explain to those who don't know.:hu
Better than the "No we don't test for that but we never had a lump".
As if that means they are negative and "clean".

Really?
I think it's awful they are trying to pawn their problem off on someone else, even if they are upfront.

The funny thing is they started at $350 and are down to $100 now.
Maybe when he gets down to $50 they'll get some takers.

These same folks had advertised their entire herd earlier this year.

Do you think it is was just by accident that they sold the other animals that had been exposed to this one, before they listed this one for sale?

I don't.

It seems you are making the assumption that he tested CL positive on a blood test, before he had a lump instead of testing the pus after he got a lump.

No, just that at least they are up front.
Regardless of how they know the goat is positive for some it won't matter.
There are CAE positive herds out there that people have goats from and know but they wanted those genetics and they simply follow a protocol.

Your right about that.
But, like I said I know these folks sold off their other animals earlier this year and waited to put this one out for sale until they were gone.
I wonder if they were upfront about the fact that they had a CL positive animal when they sold those others?

 o_O :th :smack :hu

and that's all I have to say...
Sadly too many people and with the increased interest in Nigerians they are probably the worse too much emphasis on blue eyes and polled and not enough on the dairy attributes
At least that's what I see here
I recently spoke to someone who
was considering buying that animal for those reasons only
So glad their vet told them it wasn't a good idea
