You guys are tough... I thought that was pretty funny after four days of clouds and rain.
This thread needs some pics - how 'bout some spring color?

Redbuds finally opened here today - shygirl just left.

Deadnettle makes me want to put my leg behind my head, too!

And last but not least - let's cruise on by the hive. 17 days after hiving...Dat Brood!

Nice pictures! I especially love the redbud and dandelion pictures. We had snow last week, and supposed to hit 86 tomorrow. Either stay cold or stay warm, but this back and forth drives me bonkers.

Well, it looks like I got my super on just in time. Saw the first blackberry blossoms open up today. The bees are busily bringing in LOTS of pollen. I saw about 7 different colors coming in, including black! I've never seen black pollen before, but a friend mentioned that dark colored iris has black pollen.

After researching, it looks like it could be poppy pollen. They are in bloom too, and the pollen is dark gray.

:celebrate:thumbsup:clap Like I said, better early than late! Grats on your superb timing! My bees should be in town Friday evening and I can hardly wait to pick them up Saturday and hope the weather cooperates so I can instal them! The lilacs are just starting to bloom here. Lots of trees are coming out of bud stage/entering leaf stage and there's pollen everywhere! Dandelions are already starting their 2nd generations! I don't even have my hives started yet and I'm already looking closely at the countryside when I'm driving to determine the best place to place my next set o_O

Very cool! How many hives are you installing? I hope the weather cooperates for you. Get that sugar water ready!

I'll be doing package bees into 2 Langstroth hives, 10 frame deeps. They are set about 10' off my back property line and about 20' between them. They are just out in front of and in between some cottonwood trees for shade at noon. They'll be facing south/southeast, to catch the early morning sun :D I have the math all figured out and will make the sugar water 1:1 and syrup 2:1 for the feeders probably Friday after work. I also bought a bottle of Honey Bee healthy so will add the recommended amount of that into everything.
