We are thinking of having several goats air-shipped in.
Does anyone have any personal experience with this?
Have shipped dogs and no big deal but never a goat.
Any special considerations? Drawbacks? Advice?

About 20 years ago, I had a goat shipped from Oregon to Texas. He was a little guy and weathered the trip very well. It seemed to be pretty unique way back then and he was very well attended to.

There was almost a little hitch in the plan - they almost sent him to the wrong airport in Houston, but caught it in time. Soooo, all in all it ended well enough.

No experience with air shipping but I would be very interested in this too
I've been able to get a goat from Ohio through placing an ad on CL and with the same contact I'm getting 2 more back there this year
If air shipping is a good alternative I would love to get a couple from a couple of breeders

I must be getting old... (sshhhhh!) Totally forgot that I had another one shipped in from Oklahoma too.

The first one (from Oregon) was a little guy - about 12 weeks old. The other one was a pregnant adult doe (Pygmy). Both times went fine and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Of course - way back in the day - it was probably a lot more affordable than it is now. :hu

I have a friend that ships goats all over the country. They are usually kids and it is pretty much like shipping a dog.

Actually ended up being transported to the hospital again.

We are still considering our options as far as which goats how many and from where.
