Yes, our first love is dairy goats because they are so much a part of your life. The kids are bottle raised, and the moms loooove you for milking them twice a day. They bond to you. Boers are nice too, but unless you bottle feed them they don't get as tame so not as much in your face as dairy goats. But all goats are good. Sheep can be fun and interesting but only bummer lambs (bottle babies)seem to bond with you. We are actually taking a wool spinning course now. My husband is the only man spinning, but liking it. We are learning a lot about different types of wool. I am going to have some fleeces processed professionally and maybe sell some wool. I have to see how it goes. In the meantime, the instructor is going to teach me how to knit a sock! I love wool socks winter and summer so I am excited to try this. I told my husband they will probably come out like Mutt and Jeff. He is a good man and has promised to wear them anyway! LOL I am a lucky woman.

I love it how they are so people-oriented! I'm not saying sheep aren't, just that the goats are! :) I love it when they love you back! :)
Oh neat!! That must be fun to be taking a wool spinning course! That would be a cool thing to learn! :) Aww. :) I'm sure the socks you knit will turn out beautifully! :)

I hope so, thanks for having confidence in my knitting abillities. Yes the spinning classes are lots of fun and we are learning a lot about wool and how to prepare it, etc. It's really interesting. My 2nd generation home bred eweing lambed this am. Surprising, we caught her and checked her udder last week and I only put her at 3 months along. Like all her relatives, no fuss, just lambed and the baby was up and eating this morning. We were on our way to our grandson's First Communion and I had to run back in and hop into my barn clothes, iodine the cord, check sex (ram), back to the house, into church clothes agains and leave. We made it in time but whew! Love those Dorsets. I can't wait to hear about your new babies.
