Hi, my name is Patti, I am brand new to the forum and to raising goats. I bought two male baby dairy goats that were three weeks old for pets. They were a rescue project from a dairy farm and were going to be put down if homes were not found, so a group of locals bought as many as we could. I love my two boys, but being totally new to this venture, I am having a hard time figuring some things out.
Big problem I am facing is that they were supposedly debunked, however, my boys are clearly growing horns. The are now 10 weeks old. I am afraid that the horns will cause problem later on as they had been supposedly been debudded.
Any thoughts?

I'd find a vet to help out. I don't know how large the horns are that are coming in or if they're just scurs - but at 10 weeks it's best handled by a veterinarian.

And -welcome to the forum!

Hi Patti! :welcome There are numerous threads here that can keep you occupied and as a new goat owner, there is a positive wealth of info here at your finger tips! :caf Lots of great folks who will help you if you ask as well.

If you really want/need answers, it's always best if you can provide a few pictures to show folks what you need help with. Like FEM said above, without seeing them, it's hard to tell if your boys are growing horns or scurs. If the farm said they were disbudded (and I can't see why they'd lie), it's most likely scurs. In either case, at 10 weeks, yeah... best to see a (goat knowledgeable) vet. Good luck!

Glad to have you here with us!
