Friendly yet very respectful ram; has been with the ewes since Nov/Dec and has not tried anything funny towards me. Selling because I don't have any non-related sheep to breed to him (flock consists of his sisters/nieces/cousins/dam)
Looking to add the following traits to your replacement ewes?
* LONGEVITY - Dam is a 2006 ewe, still going strong producing babies
* MOTHERING ABILITY - Ewes in his family have trouble-free lambing and accept their babies and raise them big.
* PROLIFICACY - Dam has a lifetime lambing rate of 200%. Her past four lambings have produced 9 lambs (225%) and spanned over 37 months (avg lambing interval of 9.25 months). His full sisters lambed as ewe lambs with singles and his 2013 full sister lambed this year with twins.
* PARASITE RESISTANCE - This ram and his sisters (as well as a 2013 brother I kept for a year) have never been dewormed. His dam was dewormed once in her life (9 years). This is with continuously grazing (read: no pasture management) 1.5 acres with 8-20 animals grazing it at any one time.
* MUSCLING - He is half Texel, a breed noted for its extreme muscling. Also included is Babydoll Southdown (1/4), which also have thick hindquarters.
