we are just taking our first steps as new goat owners; Two nigerian dwarfs both wethers. We have been trying to get started for a few years but things always seemed to get in the way. But not this time. I do have a question about mulberries. there is a mulberry tree very close to our pen and I really havent found any specific info about whether or not these are ok for goats to eat. Any info would be helpful.

I've never seen anything about mulberry being toxic
With anything take it slowly

Thanks for the references....I didnt explain well in my original post but the question came up because I have a huge, mature Mulberry tree towering over my fenced area and right now the berries are ripening and dropping inside like hail. The goats move in there next week now that I know for sure they can eat them.

I think the berries should be fine, it says all parts of the plant are edible, although I would watch for them eating too much fruit in case it gives them the runs

What mikiz said about making sure they don't eat too many berries that they get sick, but I'm sure they'd love to eat some of the leaves as a treat, too! My sheep love mulberry leaves.
