One of my bottle lambs was laying in the shed by herself. So I isolated her and her sister from the others. No fever but pretty weak. And both have WHITE eyelids. So am assuming worms. I separated them 13 days ago for weaning, these two have been with the herd for over a month and I was hoping they would calm the other lambs. They had their first cdt and were dewormed with Ivermectin plus 13 days ago...

No diarrhea but with the eyelids and confinement am assuming worms so I gave them both another dose of Ivermectin plus. Anything else I can do to get them healthy?

White eyelids indicates anemia which indicates haemonchus contortus (barber pole) or some other blood sucking internal parasite.

You could be dealing with a particularly stubborn or resistant strain given that you have already used Ivermectin, so I would use Valbazen. I'd probably do a 3 day treatment as well. Weigh the lambs to get an accurate dose.

Lost the weaker one,Garnet :hit now to figure out what it is. Ruby still seems ok. But still white eyelids. The other 6 lambs are as wild as ever. Guess my plan is to get fecals done and dewormed then get them moved out of the small pens. And get the adults done too. Somehow... DH still isn't up to sheep wrangling. Maybe he will get moving on our working system. Feel very guilty. With our health last year things got let go. Of course it takes one I bonded with....

I've found that bottle babies tend to have more issues with parasites, especially if they don't get enough colostrum.

She needs more protein in her diet to help her recover. Maybe find a lamb starter grain (16-20% protein). We've also used sheep protein blocks that we got at TSC. Some iron would help too. Some people use RedCell, but it is formulated for horses and contains copper so I've never used it. You might be able to get iron shots through the vet.

We had a super wet June and I've been anticipating getting hit with barber pole, but so far we are only dealing with tapes. I'm doing a 5 day course of SafeGuard trying to get that under control.

Ivermectin will do nothing for flukes but flukes are blood sucking like the barberpole.

Ivermectni plus does not familiar with valbazen- never used it.

Are you having any cocci issues?

Took her into the vet. Her temp was slightly elevated. They will call me with fecal results tomorrow. I took some from the ewe pen too. Gave her panacur and a antibiotic. I stopped and got some lamb feed that has medication for cocci . Hopefully we will get this under control.

Prohibit Levamisole. Be careful w dosage, my hair sheep are smaller, I underdose. It was very wet here as well, I've had a lot of worms and some losses.

You are right, lambs fecal showed 3+ strongyles. So dealing with Ivermectin resistant strain. I took a sample of an adult ewe too as she has off and on soft stools, she showed 2+ cocci
Probably got to hit everyone with treatment for both. Ruby is feeling better, though still pail.
