I came to the barn this morning to find my doe giving birth. It quickly became evident that her baby was stuck with one front leg still inside. She had clearly been trying to push for awhile, as the buckling had dirt on his face like she had laid down. Long story short, we got him out, but he was already gone. So... Now what? I would like to milk the mom. How long until the milk has no colostrum and can be drank? Anything else that I should know about this particular situation?? Thanks in advance! :)

I would milk her anyway and freeze the colostrum, you never know when you might need it.
Sorry about losing the little guy :hugs

Freeze the colostrum, or if another doe has more than 2, or something, let one of the kids nurse off her. That's what I did when my does triplets died, I let her first time daughters baby nurse off her.

Def. Keep that colosrum. I would monitor her temp as well. That way you will know fight away if she starts developing an infection.
Sorry about the little baby.
