Hello! I stumbled across this forum when I was looking up information about working goats. My husband and I currently reside in Illinois on a small 20 acre wooded plot of land. We currently have chickens and are working to get things set up so we can again have rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs and maybe even bees!

I'm thrilled to have found this site and look forward to sharing many stories and tid bits of wisdom here!

Right now I'm looking for Standard American Chincilla rabbits, as well as Satins and Rex. As far as Goats. I want spotted goats. Not particular on breed, probably a boer cross.

I am looking for working goats. I want to teach them to be hiking companions and cart pullers. My ultimate goal is to get a team of six goats that can pull a light weight stage coach in parades. But I think I'll start small and work up to it.

I've raised meat sheep in the past, but have no idea what to do with goat meat, but if we need to we'd be willing to go the meat route. Also angora goats would be something I'd consider way down in the far distant future, I used to spin wool from my jacob sheep and miss it. SO I don't know if I'd end up with Angora goats, or just get more jacob sheep.
