I had to look them up.

Is that a dual purpose goat? Hair and milking? Those silky goats are gorgeous.

I heard ADGA was going to accept them.

So y'all are actually going to get into GG? I thought y'all were considering getting Nubians?

Very Cool! :thumbsup
I know the gene pool is rather limited in the states and they are on the ALBC list so will they have an open herd book?

I had to look them up too, although I have read about them before. They are a pretty unique looking goat. You know if you get these goats, we will want LOTS of pictures!

I don't know the particulars about the herd book
3 members of our club are ADGA district reps and mentioned that it is likely to happen soon
It might be fun to get in on the ground floor with these beauties
There are not many around and I bet there is room for improvement as dairy animals

We helped some people look for Guersney's a few years ago... the only ones we found were in TX.
It would be great to have some in NC!
Wonder what their milk tastes like... My DD hates "hairy" LOL I think "hairy" goats are cool.:)

The breeders say the milk is good
It's also pretty high in fat like 4.6 percent and good for cheese
The are medium sized goats like a small Togg ( of course Toggs have gotten bigger they used to be considered medium )
They have been being milked tested for a while as ADGA has evaluated they are 1 gallon a day for good ones
Only one pure bred herd from embryos imported ion the 90s
They only sell bucks and semen and other semen has been imported
Most have been bred up from standard dairy goats ( Nubians excluded)
Maybe we get a standard goat and some semen
They are gorgeous
