I have a 3 week old piglet who's leg was stepped on by momma pig. he cried when it happend and then favored it for about an hour, i seperated him overnight so i could keep an eye on him and let him rest it but it seems like it is only occasionally bothering him now. he was able to jump right out of the bin i had him in so i placed him in a dog crate. he has walked around the crate a few times before he lays down. My son actually pushed on the leg that momma had stepped on and he doesn't squeal or anything. so i guess my question is that if it's actually broken wouldn't he be holding it up or refusing to walk on it? i hate to keep him away from momma to long and it seems that if he can get around on it , it would be more beneficial to place him back with the mother. any advice?

Greetings @amyburemt and welcome to BYH. Sorry your piglet got stepped on. I understand that sometimes momma pigs aren't exactly the most coordinated animals. IMHO if he's getting around and isn't in obvious pain, put him back with the rest. He'll be happier and so will you :D I expect if it was broken you'd have some sort of visual clues.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you joined us, hang around and visit with us, we are a friendly bunch. On the piglet, yes, put him back with his momma, I'm sure you already have. I admire your level of concern for your animals.
