Interesting about the vitamin B as I have a cat with IBS and vitamin B was one of treatments we tried. I was told that a vitamin B deficiency can cause diarrhea in cats so maybe it does in goats too. Goats are supposed to produce their own vitamin B so maybe he can't for some reason.

This article on B vitamins and goats is informative. Not sure if there is anything relevant in it for your kid but it never hurts to share.

He's on no grain or feed of any kind. He's just on browse and hay. I've taken away any outside feed of any kind to eliminate any "allergen" or digestive type issues. He's off the bottle. (He's four months old.) I'm taking one last fecal in to the vet for a culture and exam.

What fecal solution do they use?

The salt solution can crush Giardia as well as other parasites. Many vets use the salt solution and that could be why you aren't seeing anything.

I'm giving him B-complex for 5 days along with probiotics and that seems to have cleared things up. If it comes back I'll try Neomycin. (I haven't tried that yet.)

If he seems OK, I'm going to wether him and use him as a cart goat or see if I can find him a home as a pet. He's awful sweet and is learning to drive really quickly.

When I added a new mineral mix, with kelp, they went crazy for it and ate too much. Moon ended up with the runs a couple of times but it cleared up just as quickly as it appeared. They're adjusted to the mineral now, so they're all fine.

Interesting - what's the better fecal solution to use?
