So, today Dh, DD, and @Goat Whisperer, and I made a little run up the road to check out a few bucks. We were headed back and stopped for gas. Goat Whisperer went in to the store to buy a drink. We could see her waiting at the counter forever. FINALLY, she comes out gets in the car and we were all asking why it took so long... she didn't know but proceeded to tell us about a person beside her smelling pretty awful and she couldn't wait to get out of there.

Skip forward...

Once I got home my other DD went to give me a hug and backed away and said... OH GROSS, you STINK! BUCK!

Suddenly it dawned on me... here Goat Whisperer was complaining about the smelly woman in the store ... I can only imagine the other 10 people getting into their cars saying.... OH GOSH there was this young lady that smelled SO HORRID!

:lol::lol::lol:

I told GW when I saw her later... um I am sure you smelled worse than the lady.

I guess when you have bucks you kinda forget how wretched you can smell afterwords.

I think I still smell buck on me. :hide

That's ok. I :love my stinky boys!

I thought some of you folks were saying that your bucks had started rut last month? Maybe that was just a warm up for the real thing?

Seems all across the country does started cycling months earlier and bucks started rut earlier too.

Kinda stinks for me (no pun intended) I rather breed for Jan kids but can't this year. What a waste of earlier breeding times. :(

Last month the smell was very faint, just a hint now and then and none of the does were interested. Now the odor permeates the air, the does are in heat, and the bucks are going hoarse calling after them. This will go on for another 5 months and the smell will only get worse. UHG!!!!

Our boy knows bear hug on command and he thinks every time I go out he's going to get kisses and a hug :rolleyes:in the end he wins:p. Every time I go out I get a look like this . Mom really doesn't like the smell. They know I can't a shower every time that I go out to the barn it would be about a dozen showers each day:confused:.
There new pet sitters don't know much so they are learning. Anyway when we unloaded them Milo went to pet them as soon as he smelled him he said he was going to take a shower. I asked him why:idunno. He did not understand.

We lost our Lamancha Buck. :(
I don't know if I even posted about it here.

And we got our Nubian buck in Late July. He just finished quarantine. I don't want Ruby kidding alone. I also didn't want to breed her for minis. She is getting up there and I want PB Nubians.

The Nigerians are GW's and I don't know what she is doing.:hu
Other than they are so fat she knows she can't breed the adults right now.

All our kids are too young so they are slotted for Dec/Jan breedings unless they need to wait.

I hate late year breedings. I don't like kidding in April- June.

The only issue is mom feels like locking me up till I take a shower, except she knows I can't take a shower every time I go out to the barn;) (witch is like 10 times a day:)
As a mom I understand. Plus you will stink up the house and the furniture! :p

I asked him why:idunno. He did not understand.

@TAH - coveralls make a big difference! Put them on go out say hi, slide them off and you are good to go.
Also @babsbag makes a GREAT Buck-off soap. VERY worth getting once you get your animals back!

BTW Babs- I need to order some!

I want March kids this year but I am so sick of listening to these does that I may not be able to hold out that long, but I need to. I have about 10 doelings that I will breed in Jan. . Two of them are polled and I will breed them to my older ND with the blue eyes. Looking for that polled blue eyed kid... a buckling would be awesome. Also trying to decide on mini manchas or not.

Tomorrow I need to do Lute injections on a few, but I hate IM shots.
