also I hadn't seen this elsewhere but there is really not a smell. even now. hopefully that means it hasn't been too long. but for others I was operating under the understanding I would know by smell for certain and as you can see it's been quite awhile since she could have potentially aborted.

I have delivered goats with no front feet. Not my favorite position but sometimes it just is what it is. I just try and get one shoulder out a time. If the nose is presenting she should be able to deliver.

How common/uncommon do you find this personally in your flocks?

There are management vulnerabilities here. They were in a pen for awhile being bucket trained. Also possibly over feeding for pregnancy since i was using creep and occasionally grain to bucket train daily. Though I did account for this in their feeding I was also trying to help them gain condition. Plus the stress of moving durng purchase (something I have learned not to do w/ other pregnant livestock.) Then the pen. Being trained to a LGD which they are hesitant about. All these things I wouldn't do during lambing season. ugh.

Sorry this is happening to you and the ewe... Hope you're able to get the carcass(es) out without damaging the ewe. I have zero experience with this, but hope it all works out OK for you both.

Also what are the chances I am in the long haul with this herd now that all the ewes were probably exposed in the pen?

I have to get to it but thanks for your replies.

It is quite possible they were all exposed but since it is their off season also quite possible that no one else is bred. Being in season the end of March would be strange for a goat, which is what I raise, but not unheard of. Depends on location and weather. The shorter the days are the more likely it is that a goat will cycle, and I am guessing the same with sheep.
