We won't be having our 3 goats join us till next year. We are considering getting 2-3 does once we are settled in up there. We are for sue getting a saanen but hey are really hard to find in milk so we may end up getting a doling for next year. The most common breeds up there are lamancha's and toggenburg's. I have heard toggenburgs have really awful milk tastes no matter how much you change there feed. I am leaning more towards the lamancha at this point but I am open to suggestions.

I agree with @Southern by choice . I owned a Togg and the milk was horrid. I have another one now so we will see what next year brings. It isn't every Togg so you could ask to taste the milk before you buy the doe. But LM are definitely going to have higher fat.

Toggenburg milk is not as good as most other goats milk. Definately Lamacha.
