. Never got to the point that I had to chain up, but there were a couple times when it came real close. I do keep a set in the truck for emergency situations. Other than that, the 4x4 isn't really "needed" down on the farm too much... IF you have a tractor or dozer to pull/push stumps. I use the truck in 4 wheel drive to pull stumps. Not as effective as a dozer/back hoe or tractor, but gets the job done in a pinch. Having posi-traction/locking differential in 4 low helps also as there's no more wheel spin on one side.
