How to make an Ant Proof Beehive Stand

Canada is looking more and more attractive. Our taxes, laws, health care, etc are ridiculous.

Texas is great. Summers are hot, but that's what air conditioning was invented for. LOL Come on over, we'll make room for ya'.

We are seriously considering a move if this state continues its rapid decent into socialism.

BTW, the ant proof hive stands are still holding up strong. I wish the stand would keep out the dreaded Varroa mite! Checked the hives last week, and added the Apivar to decimate the mites. We were seeing an increase in mite drops, so it was time to send all the little buggers to the next world.

We will remove the Apivar strips exactly 42 days from the date installation.

Again, no ants in any of the hives, so that is good news. I did find over 20 ant nests throughout the front part of our property after plowing, disc-ing, and planting clover and rye. Applied the appropriate pesticide underground to eradicate these stinging red ants.

So all is good on the home front.

Just as an aside, for those considering Canada as an "escape" from liberal politics and socialism... Canada is liberal, progressive and socialist. Our illustrious govt is trying to mirror Canada's and Britain's medical system. So if you don't like where we are and where we're going, you certainly won't like it there. Most Canadians and Britains who could afford it and had medical issues came here to get them fixed. That should tell you something.

Thanks for sharing about Canada's decent into liberalism and socialism. Yesterday, for the very first time, I was reading about their new prime minister...his name is Justin Pierre James Trudeau and he appears to be even more dedicated to the destructive ideology of liberalism and socialism than Obama was!

Since it finally rained in California, I guess the drought is over. not trying to offend anybody, I just have my warped humor going on here.... Property values should rise once the mud dries up.......would be a good time to sell..... You could buy a big cow trailer and bring your babies with you!

I like your humor...even if it is a little warped! To be honest with you, I sense it is not yet time for us to move. Timing, timing, timing...is suppose to be all important...and in some regards, I totally agree.

I may be mistaken but I believe Soar said he was born and raised in TX in the San Antonio area. I may be completely off base.

Born and raised in the Austin area. Our family moved to California when I was 5. Other family members grew up in lovely Laredo...fyi, for some years, Laredo was considered the worst small town in the entire nation...hope this has changed now...

Update: I guess Laredo hasn't changed all that much...
