We have been buying 70 pound bales from the co-op in Bryan for $20. With winter coming the girls are eating a little bit more and it's a lot harder to get out there in the mud in the gunk to fill up the Hay feeders. After researching and asking around I came across this gentleman who has 3 foot by 3 foot by 8 foot Bales for $85. It's gorgeous. We're going to get a trailer load this weekend, for the same price as feeling the truck bed up with the smaller pills. Talk about saving on the feed bill!

He's right here in East Texas but he goes to get his hay from Kansas. I'm buying wholesale and I'm really excited.
Now to figure out where to put it!

These are the pictures from the seller and he's got tons of great reviews.

We THINK we can haul 6 baled home safely. The trailer has a brake kit, the towing capacity of the truck is 10650 and the trailer weighs 3500.

Worse case scenario I go back for the rest, as it's only 1 hour each way.

We've decided to pile it up in front of the shed on the pallets we had the wood for the barn on. That way its up off the ground and I can cover it.

I see it everywhere for $140 and up, same size bales from the same suppliers. This guy has marked down what he has left because he's got a fresh shipment coming. its why I plan to stock up! DH nearly fainted when I told him how heavy they were. we're going to have to slide them off by hand!! Or leave them on the trailer until it dries up enough to get the tractor out of the bottom.

Congrats - that's right purdy hay! Does Kansas have a problem with blister beetles?

Blister beetle tested and free. He sent me a copy of the rest results. Protien is 20%! It's pretty 2:1 on ca/p too, that's good.

Now to find better Sudan for the boys and we will be set for the winter! Selling a buck to help pay for the load. Richard, our mini Nubian, is going to his new home Friday .
