My llama is overweight. I know I need to get the weight off. What is the best way to do so? I bought a scale and have started weighing how much hay I feed her. I've been doing this about a month already. I read I should give 1.8%-2% of her body weight in dry matter daily. I'm currently giving...
I am thinking of building a ramp for my llama to use to get up to the back of our pickup. I was looking online at YouTube video's of llama obstacles to see if any of them use a ramp obstacle. I haven't found one yet.....but I came across this video which was pretty funny... you have to watch...
Thanks all for your input! WOW.... we use to have a Subaru......I can't picture putting even one alpaca in there!
I am just having a hard time picturing HOW you get them in those little spaces. Lots of treats and training?? We have a pickup with a canopy. It seems like we should be able to...
My llama is being treated now for a tooth root abscess. The lump is way back on the lower section of her jaw...could almost be lymph node area, but not quite that far. Looking at your pictures, Peaches lump seems to be in the same place as our girls. It is very hard lump. The Vet. took an x-ray...
Thanks for the replies. I did save it, and tried to use some after a couple months just to see........but the lice eggs (nits?) are so sticky that they don't wash off, so anything I would try to make would still have all the eggs in it and even though they aren't viable, it just didn't look good.
Finally got my rescue llamas shorn today.........but sadly discovered lice at the same time. I had been hoping to use some of their fleece to try and do some felting projects. Should I just toss it? Or is it usable after the lice and then the nits die?
bluck.......I feel so itchy now :(
crazyland........it's a concrete footing for a large sign. The sign was replaced and they didn't need this hunk of concrete....I was happy to provide a new home for it.
Ksavagno........lol, no the goaties won't be able to knock it over, or push it around.......in fact, it's so heavy, I don't...
Our little Nigi, "Smarties", thinks the manger is THE place to be. I was scared when I first saw her with her leg hanging over like that....but she was quite comfortable, thank you very much.
I found this website and decided I also needed to clicker train my llamas
http://www.llama-training.co.uk/
My two are very skittish still and the first time I used the clicker they ran away and wouldn't come back..:/...even with their favorite treat. oh-well. Going to take some time and...
The guys who delivered it stacked it.....so, I'm not sure if it cut side up or not...I'll have to double check tomorrow. Only one set of pallets underneath. No, the rain can't get to the hay. And I have no idea if it was properly dried when baled. :(
We had 2 tons of hay delivered this year about a month ago. Some of the bales went into the metal shed, the majority went into the carport, which is enclosed on 2 1/2 sides (One side is the wall to the shop, the other 1 1/2 sides are tarps). I noticed today that the carport hay is getting...
That's funny to hear. I just got a little Nigi kid ~ 3 months old, and she is trying to eat out of the grain bucket of my full grown Nubian....and he doesn't seen to care! Where as if the Nigi/togg cross tries, he gets slammed. funny goats.
