    Stupid question

I might add that I dehorned these guys when their horns were little nubs with a dehorning iron. My son sits on them while laying down, holds their head and I burn. Over quick no blood.

    Stupid question

Jersey bull won't be much over a year old when he hits the freezer. He is here for one tour of duty only. Was born last June and will be in the freezer this fall. He has not been handled and is not a pet. Have heavy duty round pen panels if he gets to be a handful. No one is allowed in pasture...

Porkchop48 kidding thread-Updated.Last one for while, did not go well.

Sorry to hear about your lost kid. Don't beat yourself up. I recommend you purchase a head snare. Jeffers has them. I have saved a couple of kids getting "big" heads delivered easier.

    How to catch a piglet???

I've never dislocated a leg and most people I've gotten advice from lift them like that. I think that was an unfortunate rare occurance. Obviously there is a reasonable weight you can lift. Once you have the piglet lifted, if you have to carry a distance hold onto both legs, piglets back to you...

    How to catch a piglet???

Grab them by the rear leg and lift fast. Have a dog crate or small sturdy pen ready. We generally fill a feed pan then act quick.

    Vacuum Pumps?

http://www.backyardherds.com/forum/uploads/1685_sparklemilkingmachine.jpg. I got my pump from portable milkers. It's a dairyland I believe (it's in the barn). It was a great deal unfortunately the guy who operated portable milkers.com died last year and the business is closed. The pump is...

    Magnets in your cows?

When Tinkerbelle left to visit a Hereford herd to be bred last summer we put a magnet in her. I felt the risk of an "old farm" pasture with misc equipment and possibly pieces of old barbed wire around made a magnet necessary. I have not been too concerned about hay from same farm , different...

ND goat cant push baby out please help

Sounds like the neck and head is bent sideways. Lube your hand up good and place it on top of the head. Close your eyes be calm and think about what you are feeling. If you found one ear search for the other this should give u a good idea of placement. Push the head in and turn at the same time...
