Barn Fire- please help- Not my barn

It has been awhile since I have been here and I am sorry. I started a new job and just haven't been able to get online here but this is important. I do not know these people but farmers should stick together. A family farm near us had their poultry and goat/sheep barns burn down. They lost...

    Could Someone Steal Your LGD?

Snowy- No way. If she doesn't know you AND love you she won't come near you. She will bark and charge at you, but not come near you. You might be able to get to the goats, but only if you are willing to risk it. Doubtful anyone will. The list of people she knows and loves is small, only...

Kids not doing well..open to suggestions

Cocci is unlikely at their age. They might have a touch on pneumonia, but I really think not enough milk is the issue here. They have difficulty regulating their body temperature without enough calories. Give them a Vit B shot to stimulate their appetite. Make sure they getting enough to eat...

My 6 week old buckling might just be a daddy!

Just because he got the deed done doesn't mean he was able to "complete the mission" so to speak. Little bucks do a lot of "practicing" before they are ever able to seal the deal. It is possible, but highly unlikely. let us know how this turns out. o_O

    Will Soap Absorb Smells?

I have been trying to find a place in my house to cure my soap. I am concerned it may absorb some smells in the house. I have not made soap in the large quantities I am making it now and was always able to cure it in a small, out of the way closet with a fan on it. That is not an option right...

Jodief100--- random stuff and BIG news

Not this year. If this works out, we hope to add it in a few years but we are taking it slow, seeing what the market wants. We have spoken with processors and have a tentative plan in place but are not pulling the trigger yet. I want to see what the demand is.

Jodief100--- random stuff and BIG news

That is the eternal problem Farmer's face. Customer's and markets are not near the farms and we don't' want them near us. Around here, produce at the Farmer's Market sells for about the same it does in stores so farmers at lower income markets do well with vegetables and a lesser extent...
