Hi Folks
I have 2 horses that have discovered the plug / outlet for their trough heater.
Looking for your ideas or DIY covers to stop the livestock from '' pulling the plug ''
I've tried cutting the bottom from a bucket and attaching it over the cover. It worked for about a month.
What are...
Hi folks
I'm not sure if it was on this forum or another, but I remember reading about placing goldfish in the stock tank to keep down algae. Has anyone here tried this? What about the goldfish poo?
Hi folks
Barn is almost complete. I'd like to hear the ways you have found best to cut stall mats to size. The mats are 4x6 and 3/4 inch thick. Thanks for your suggestions
Thank you for the reply. My location is NH. The barn is in the process of being built. The excavator that leveled the area and placed footings really trashed the area. A trench was dug from the house to the barn (approx 125ft) across our lawn for water and electric. The barn will have a paddock...
Hi folks
We are having a 24x30 ft barn built and the ground work has trashed the area!! The ground is mostly gravel, not much topsoil. The "grass" that was there was pretty sparse and had a lot of wild strawberry runners and moss.
I have a small tractor with a york rake so I should be able to...
I would go to a plumbing supply dept and get a 2 piece spigot kit or plug kit. The key would be the 2 pieces fitting together with some sort of gasket in the middle.
Or how about a plug for a rowboat?? Not sure how to describe it, but it needs to be in the drain hole for the boat before launching:)
Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!! Sheepgirls post and link was very helpful. It must be nice to have a large and helpful family living nearby. Also the tip about the 2x4s was awesome. You can definately hold good tension on the fence from top to bottom with that set up.
I do have a small...

Hi I have a 7 yr. old paso fino/qh gelding. I have been working on getting him to trot and do a collected canter. I am starting to wonder if I can being "fair" to him as this is not what he does naturally. He is a great guy and I am thinking of giving up my quest for the w-t-c gaits. Am I...
Thank you for responding! I am riding in a dressage saddle because I like the deep seat. I love to trail ride and wanted something comfortable and secure that fits him well. I will look into your suggestions. I tried an Aussie endurance and really didn't like the pollies so I don't think...
Hi All,
I have a 7 year old paso fino/qh gelding. He is a sweet guy, but I am having a heck of a time fitting a saddle for him. He is extremely short-backed and his whithers are almost non-existent. He is a rescue and has been doing well, but I got him for trail and I am pretty much doing...
