We have had a black bear here in Longwood, Florida kill about 10 chickens now, and has damaged three of my goat pens. He is trying to get my goats. :( Fish/wildlife won't do anything till we do some deterrants first for a couple of weeks. We are in the process of getting electric fencing, but...
I posted an ad on craigslist here in Central Florida and got a call from a lady that picked some up for her goats. We called the place and they gave us enough for our 3 goat pens and some to share with our vet, and two friends. All for FREE. Love that word.
Mine love the animal cookies. I go to Sam's and buy the big thing of them. Some of them like apples, but I have to sit and peel the skin off or they won't eat them. Picky little things. :D I have a couplf of bottle babies that do come or follow me around just by their name. The one is a buck...
I have had nigerians for a couple of years, but none are registered. We are getting 3 Myotonic (fainting) goats the end of the month and they are registered. So my hubby wants me to take care of that. I went on the website and printed all the paperwork out. Do I need a farm name and a herd name...
We just found a large animal vet and she was out to our place yesterday and she looked things over. She does have goats also which is wonderful. I had gotten two goats from someone last year that gave them horse dewormer. We don't have horses so never had it to give to them. This vet yesterday...
She told me yesterday that she was busy all day today with farm calls. So I guess this is normal for her. She seemed really nice and informative. I have a call into her to get her out here next week, and then I guess she will let me know about getting established then. Another vet that is a ways...
Well I am going to have her out so we can get established with her and then when I call she will know whom I am talking about and be willing to just give me meds when needed. I guess put a face to the voice that called her today. :) Thanks for all the info
I hope this is in the right area. I have had goats for 3 years now and still consider myself a newbie. I have finally found a vet in my area that is willing to come out and see my goats and not charge an arm/leg. :D I was wondering those that have had goats for a lot longer than I and have vets...
I am not very good at computers and don't know how to post them. I have tried and they don't work. Both my adult kids moved out and it is just hubby, me and our animals. I asked the dogs to help and they just tilt their heads when I talk to them. :D
It all started last Mon. 31st with twins blue eyed does, then 3rd quads all blue eyed 2 boys and 2 girls. Friday single FF blue eyed buck, Sat. night single blue eyed buck also lost one of the quads Sat. afternoon. Sunday morning blue eyed buck. lost another quad this morning. It cooled down...
We don't get snow in Florida, but I love seeing the snow pictures. My goats won't go out in the rain. They are like my yorkies I guess. They don't want to get their feet wet. :D
I want one. I wish they were in Florida. I have been looking at fainters. But I had two girls give me three does two weeks ago and Hubby said I am at my goat limit. If I want more then I have to sell some. :/ I thought I would keep working on him. :D Both the kids have moved out of the house...
