    Question on Milk....

    yes it is normal.... butterfat is highest in beginning and at end of lactation. not sure why but the same happens with my does. I figure maybe the doe is making less milk in beginning and end so her body thinks it need to make the richest milk for the baby.

    My Saanen caries single babies deep and does not show a whole lot. (you can see baby moving if you look) If she is bagging up then prob. prego but if she is already bagging up you should be able to feel movement or pokey limbs like goat girl said. Keep us posted

    I think there are too many factors that change the levels of the butterfat to put a specific # on breeds like that. A round about # maybe but to be that exact for a specific breed doesn't seem possible to me.
