My girls have started 'riding' each other. I'm not sure if this is a sign that they're in heat or not, but I'd like to know since I was thinking about breeding them. Thanks for your advice!
So , I know that m sheep have to be in heat to breed. I'm just not sure of the signs. My one girl keeps riding her sister, and I think that might be a sign that she's ready to breed, but I'm not sure. Anyone know anything?
My two girls are at the right age for breeding, but I'm not sure what kind of ram to breed them with. They are Suffolk/Hampshire cross, and now 10 months old. (i'v only had em for 5)! What do you guys suggest? Also, do they have to be in heat, because my girls aren't.
My sheep do that ALL the time! It's just they're way to play, frolicking if you will. They jump and headbutt each other and love to play with my dog. They're such happy creatures, and they love to play.
My sheep aren't fond of being touched, they practically don't allow it. I get to rub their heads for maybe 5 seconds before they are done being touched. I only get to hug them when they're eating, and even then I'm forced to be cautious about it. Does anyone have any tips to make them huggable...
My sheep are 100% pigs. Appetite wise anyhow. I feed them 4 cups a day, plus a lot of treats. Is their a point in a sheeps life when they can just live off field grass and nothing more besides leaves and what not? We figured we would end the food when they turn one or so. Anybody got good ideas...
Heavens no! We have magpies, but they're beautiful, kind (but noisy) things that don't bother a soul! I wonder why on earth they would do that...... You're sure they're magpies? It sounds like a crow or raven type thing to do....
O.k, not exactly a crater, but still, it's as ba as one. It's like my sheep has an itch and keeps itching and making the rub spot bigger. I'm not sure how to post a picture, but it's on her neck/chest area. What to do????....
I wanted sheep, I just did. I don't know why, but once i have something I want, I strive to get it. And when I saw them fir sale, I just wanted them. That, and they were affordable
When do you stop feeding sheep grain? I've two of em and they live on a little less than two acres, and they have this all to themselves. They get salt blocks and walks regularly, so I was wondering when you stop feeding them.
I only have two, but planning to breed them and get more. My dad has a friend who's a shearer, and he's going to teach me, I just don't know which shearers are the EASIEST. I want easy. -shy sheep
Their garden is too big for wire, I pick up the manure in the pen, and I also need them to be kept IN their pen, not wondering about.UUUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Their annoying, even if I love them dearly. Th jump up on the fence surrounding the pen, and then fly over, what shound I do to the fence? I...
I'm not sure how many times to shear my sheep a year. I've looked it up A LOT but never the same answer twice. Who knows FOR SURE. And another thing, what do y'all shear your sheep with? Olden day shears that look like giant scissors or new ones? Thanks!
