Its the way she worded it. She wanted people to side with her on it. She did it to make us look like brutal animal killers, to fool the public into thinking its inhumane.
I didn't see that about the chickens. That one person repeats so much stuff I stopped reading most of it. I did point it out to them that chickens are kept in far worse conditions, yet nobody seems to care about them. There is rebuttal on their site now. Complete with something under the same...
Did you guys know they are going to bulldoze in the sandleford area of the book, and build on it? Richard adams and a bunch of people are fighting it. You should be able to find it on google search.

Might have something to do with breeding a larger rabbit to a smaller one. hollands are smaller then angoras. Breeding a large rabbit to a little one, is not recommended, and could cause some pregnancy problems. I suggest buying another angora, or purebred holland to breed to, instead of cross...
The name of the watership down movie is watership down. The plague dogs is another book written by richard adams. Its about a couple of dogs, that escape a lab. They are thought to carry the bubonic plague. Harder to read then watership down. very good book. They also made of movire of that one...
Your welcome. rabbits do dumb things to their babies. I take them out twice a day till they are between ten-15 days old. My next boxes have a low front on them. So I put a hand towel over the lower part to prevent them from climbing out to go explore. I take them out once early in the morning...
This is one of my favorite books. If you have seen the movie, but never read the book, you are missing out on a lot! the movie left out a lot of characters, and changed some of the stuff that happens in the book. I like the movie too. The book is so much better.
I happen to be on the richard...
it was a good article. the only thing I disagree with is the part about enteritis. What he said/recommended doing doesn't always work, and it depends on what you are dealing with. Right now some rabbitries are going through epizootic enteritis, a european disease thats believed to be hitting the...
I take the kits to the doe twice a day. I put a little feed, grain, r calf manna in the nest, behind the babies to encourage the doe to feed them. It won't prevent them from being born on the wire. It will prevent the doe from eating the bedding, and doing dumb things to the kits to kill them.
Yep that's what I got from the crossing. Little black babies with gold tipped fur. These were solid colored, not aguotis. They were pretty. not what I expected to get out of them.
I was basing the other on my own experience. I did breed a cal buck to a chin doe and got all chins. But every time...
I went and had a look at her website. the pens she made for some of them don't look too bad. They could work out if they were altered with a better, secure fence, and escape proofed so they can't dig out. I wouldn't be comfortable with housing that many rabbits together, because they can fight. I...
@weedchik, yeah I wanted to caution against something like that, because there is no possible way it work. With that type of setup I would suspect there would be feral rabbits from it. There are always more cons, then there are pros. There is no possible way you can catch all these rabbits, and...
The person mentioned on the first link allows their rabbits to run loose, and is very anti caging. Ran onto them on a couple of email lists. They tend to have a nasty attitude towards anyone who pens, or cages their rabbits. I would caution against following their setup, since you can't control...
