Currently the goat shed is just plywood. I know we need to cover it so the wood won't rot out. I got a roll of vinyl to put down, but am worried that it will be too slippery when wet, for goats and people. Would it work to cover it with several coats of wax and then maybe add sand to the last coat to give it some grip? Or is there some much easier and more obvious way of doing this?

I have two run-in sheds/areas. One has a dirt floor, which I like :)

The other is a shed that has a plywood floor. What I did was brushed a layer of waterseal on the original floor, and then put a 'sacrificial layer' of inexpensive thinner plywood over it. So far the thinner plywood has lasted for several years, and that's with two ponies and a mini horse. I figured when it shows signs of rotting, I'll take it out and put another thin layer down (I didn't nail it down or anything). I'm hoping that will keep the original floor in decent shape for many years to come.
