We have 2 sows and a boar all housed together. Until just a few days ago, there was a castrated hog in there with them, but he's been processed. We got the sows when they were around 3 months old, in the middle of February. We don't spend a lot of time with the pigs, just feed and water them, hose them down real good when it's HOT. So we haven't noticed any breeding behavior.

So anyway, they should be bred now, right? They're about 7 months old now. Also, can 2 sows farrow together or do they need to be separated? If they can stay together, do we absolutely need to remove the boar? They're in a pen that's 100x50ft.

They are Yorkshire X Hampshire

Also, I read pigs can be bred for 10 years, is this true? If so, does the litter size diminish with age like egg production in chickens?
And can the pigs be eaten after they're done being used for breeding?

Well you won't have to worry over having to separate them anytime soon. LOL
