Glad this thread was brought back to life. I would never have even thought about pumpkins for supplimental feed for our cows. We go strictly grain and hay and only 1 of our 4 bovine will even eat an apple or carrot. Maybe they would get interested in pumpkin if we just left it for them to play around with.

We are smashing pumpkins for a second week now and have hundreds still to go - pigs go crazy for em, some cows like them some dont bother, and it is a thumbs down from the sheep but they will eat some seeds.

The sheep like 'em better after they've fermented....tear into them like sharks in a feeding frenzy around Jan/Feb.
