Hi!

I haven't been on this forum in a while so I thought I would post our most recent litter :D

9 kits from one of my 3/4 cal - 1/4 flemish does. The sire is my chestnut NZ/AM buck. All the kits are DARK! I'm thinking they are steels which is my favorite color.

They were born late morning on January 3rd.

Love the rabbit pics! Your doe reminds me of our bunny, Reggie. He's a Californian. Not sure if he is full or cross - he was found wandering the streets and someone took him to our vet. When no one claimed him, our vet called us and asked if we'd like a free 'house bunny.' I'd had rabbits before, but never in the house. He's litter box trained, so we let him out of his cage and he runs around like he owns the place. Everyone loves him, especially my 2-year old niece.

We have seriously looked into breeding meat rabbits, but haven't started yet. My husband says 'We should eat him!' every time the kids comment on how much plumper he is since we rescued him (he was pretty skinny). The kids just laugh now -they've realized even when we start raising meat rabbits, we'll always have this guy as a pet.

BTW, how does a 3/4 Cal 1/4 Flemish dress out? Seems like it would be a good mix. We considered Flemish Giants, but decided against it given their bone size and the expense/need for larger cages.

Well I broke my scale but they dress out very nicely! A ton of meat with "normal" bones. They also throw large litters and grow quickly :)
