I am catching cats and moving them on the farm and they did great with mice but still plenty of gophers.
So now I am planting gopher plant to get rid as many as possible.
The seeds are nice beans that are very toxic and once established I hope it makes a difference.

I know everyone is going to blast me for this, and I don't what to start a fight, but you need to let some coyotes in. I do not allow coyotes to be hunted on my land and when all my neighbors are over run with prairie dogs and gophers I don't have any. I have seen the coyotes hit my electric fence a time or two, and now they make a wide circle around any off limits areas, in fact they won't even look at my chickens when they go past.
The other thing you could do is contact a few terrier dog clubs and see if they would want to hold a going to ground trial on your land.

Coyotes are not an option for my operation. I'm going to build one of those shot gun traps I think. When I hear it go off I will do a jig. LOL

Why allow the scourge of the earth to not be hunted ? One of my neighbors has a beef cow operation. He as well as his night watchman have to be quite alert when the cows are calving. You see, last year he lost 5 calves... the coyotes wait until a cow lays down to give birth and when the head comes out, they start to eat at the calf's head. The calf is eaten alive as it is being born or has to be put down shortly after birth. Another neighbor has 30 +/- sheep that are kept in a night dry lot with a 6 foot non climb fence and electric wire at the bottom, side and top and large guard dogs. Two or 3 years ago, his 110lb. Rottweiler male was killed by coyotes. All he found was his head and hide , the rest was eaten. Every year when the ewes lamb he looses 10 -20% of his lambs to coyotes .Last year he shot 7 coyotes that were after the sheep. I guess that the coyotes can't read the posted signs for electric wire shock not to mention the no trespassing ones . I raise horses and had a pair of 95 lb. and 90 lbs. of solid muscle Boxers as my guard dogs. Both were killed by coyotes. Over the last 10 years, the coyotes killed 2 of my foals. No one in our area can even have a chicken on their farms due to predation. KILL MAIM AND DESTROY on sight.

1. Why allow the scourge of the earth to not be hunted ?
2. One of my neighbors has a beef cow operation.
3. Two or 3 years ago, his 110lb. Rottweiler male was killed by coyotes.
4. KILL MAIM AND DESTROY on sight.
1. It is open season all year on coyotes but as you know a bullet can do damage even 1 mile away and that is why there are some restrictions around farms. Would you like if one of your horses gets hit by a bullet meant for a coyote?
2. So is one of mine and I would not shoot in his direction unless the target is close enough to hit.
3. A mountain lion could take such a dog.
4. A lot of hate for God's creature that does what it is supposed to do.

PS. My neighbor with the beef cattle hates bees and his farm structures are 2 miles away. I told him he can shoot all trespassers bees on sight and you should have seen his face.

I have the mole problem and I am struggling.
They ate same of my fresh planted trees.
I hope once I have enough established castor plants they get their life cycle disrupted.
I was just told of a new method.
A piece of rotten meat pushed inside the hole and covered up.
The smell will drive them away.

Bossroo...good marksmen and markswomen in our area too. Like how we all let each other know when a predator has been sighted or has attacked livestock...all go on lookout and alert mode and take care of the problem asap! Had one neighbour put up his deer stand on one of our high trees when there were foxes attacking hen houses...he got them!

Oh my ... planting highly poisonous castor beans to disrupt the moles life cycle. Such hate for God's creatures for doing what they are supposed to do.
God made them both with a purpose.
But guns are man made.
I prefer Natural ways.
