I am 3goodeggs over at BYC and the the bee thread said you all accept bees as a herd now. That's great, because I am nowhere ready for dairy goats yet and I wanted to join you guys!

And... maybe I will sneak a peek at the goat threads to better prepare for when we are ready for them.

We had sheep once, as pets. The ram was... well, the ram liked me, my husband was bruised and battered a great deal, thus his reluctance to take on goats.

I'll get my goats. I sweet talk like a pro. :D =D

Sweet talk like a pro! LOVE IT!

Welcome to BYH! :frow

BTW- Bucks are not like rams. All our bucks love everyone, don't fight, climb in our laps and wait for loving! We have Nigrians, Mini-Manchas, Lamancha, Kiko Bucks. All big babies!:)
However goat bucks do do things that rams don't... like pee in their mouths, smell during rut, pee on their legs and face. But that is just during rut. We avoid kissing on them when they have urine dripping off their beards...but they still get hugs.:p

How do they feel about baths then?
I believe they would get quite a few.
How long does rut last? Just while the does are in estrus?
I have so much to learn.
