She is very pretty, @soarwitheagles! Too bad she's not tame, and that she has an attitude. :(

Thanks Goatgirl!

Yes, I wish she was more approachable. I am totally new to this type of adventure.

You know what I have been thinking? When the female lambs are born, maybe I do lots of hand feeding and cuddling, then maybe they will be more approachable.

I read numerous posts discouraging doing this to male lambs, as they lose their fear of humans and this can be dangerous. So we won't be friendly to the male lambs...

That's a good idea! :thumbsup I would kind of like to do that with my goat kids, but I don't think I could take them away from their momma's! :barnie

Completely out of subject, but when do you wean your lambs?

BTW,

Very nice calves, goat, chickens, and animals at your place! No snow...hmmmm...may I ask where you are located?

Regarding weaning our lambs...

To be 100% honest with you, I have never had sheep before, never had pregnant ewes either, so I have no clue whatsoever as to when to wean the lambs...not even sure how to go about it!

I have not thought that far ahead yet!

If anyone here has some ideas and suggestions, I am all ears!

One more week for this contest! I know after that massive storm back East, some of you out there have to have pics of your animals being crazy in the winter... :D

knock on wood, not a ton so far this year, but here are a few pics from our last 2 winters.

Brisco & Lenny our beef steers decided to go for a walk. They actually belonged in the field on the other side of the horse in the picture. Here is Brisco visiting the goats and Lenny strolling up the path past the chicken coop.

Well, we do not have any snow here in Alabama, but here is a photo of our bunny "couple" Mister Fluffy and Miss Attitude. They got out together for a play date yesterday and ran around for a good thirty minutes before cuddling up together.
