I have many journals and posts I follow and I do not receive any notifications at all for them. Sorry if I am late to the game. But I do not get emails or the red number on the alerts option. My settings have not changed so I am unsure of why. I hope that is helpful!

I'm not getting my alerts for watched threads either. None for OFA, @samssimonsays , @babsbag, @Ferguson K, @secuono, etc the list goes on. I can look in the watched treads list and see there have been new posts but i get no alert at all. Even POW thread doesnt give me alerts.
I am with you. I get mentions, likes and the occasional post to my thread but other than that, it is few and far between.

I've kinda given up trying to figure it out and have just acquiesced to deleting cache about every three to four page views. It kinda sucks, because I have a monthly data cap (satellite internet) so having to always reload pics slows things down & eats into that big time, cause the pics and recurring stuff (for EVERY site I visit :barnie) then have to re-DL. (As a result of this I recently changed my data plan <more $/mo> so I'm not charged for data from midnight to 5 am which is mostly when I'm on)

I get red # alerts (but NOT on every new post on any threads including those I'm watching) then click the link in the alert to go to the page and the alert post isn't there. Sometimes my most recent post isn't there either. So I go clear cache and miraculously mine as well as the new posts all show up.

If I click on recent posts or new posts, I'll find watched threads with blue dots indicating new unread posts, but they aren't showing as existing in the alerts box top right.

So now I don't even use the top right alerts function. I go directly to "New Posts" then go to the oldest entry (last post, normally on page 2) then cycle through them going backwards, working toward the most recent (first post on page 1). The funny thing with doing this is I STILL find indicated new posts missing, and have to go delete cache to get them to load. :hu

Now I have a new foible occurring... When I select to post a comment and the page reloads, the posts are out of time order... My post will show up above previous posts and the post times on the older posts will have changed to whatever the tag line is for near simultaneous posts... So I go delete cache and reload and everything jumps to what it really should be :hu

Sorry, but this is the only site I'm experiencing any of this on. It's not my browser (Firefox - latest version - all add ons updated) and like Babs said... it's not an "always" thing... it's very sporadic, but way too frequent to be a fluke... I sincerely believe something isn't right with the program.

Well if it helps at all... I have zero of these issues. And I am always accessing the site through my cell phone.

It may just be a computer driven cacheing issue that doesn't affect cell phones... Is anyone else with cell phones seeing these issues? Yes/no please?

The only time I don't get alerts is if there are multiple posts on a watched thread, I only get an alert for the first one I haven't read. But I assumed that was purposeful. I've never had new posts that I have no notifications for.
