If they are haltered, is there any chance you can mount their grain buckets a distance apart and tie them within reach of their own bucket but not the other's? Just a thought... I'm not as big a meanie head as Bruce or Connie :duc:hide:lol:

Believe it or not but the pecking order with my goats is more pro dominate than with my trillion chickens. Goats, at least mine are greedy at designated meal time. Especially now that the pasture grass is no longer plentiful. I have been separating my herd into feeding classes. Nannies grains & greens (roughage)/insecure doe lings more grain and roughage to build more mass & more nourishment/Weathers get minimum grains and higher protein roughage to prevent Urinary Calculi & the boys get a scheduled Ammonium Chloride drenching. It it is a pain in the keester to separate them for feeding but from a health stand point, it is worth my extra efforts.

When I feed my bunch I throw 3 buckets on the ground and fill the 4th. I then throw a fist full of grain from the full one into each of the ones on the ground. That way they all run around to those three while I then pour pellets into one after the other and set the 4th one down (with pellets still in it) I then stand guard in the center between all of them to ensure that all the goats stay in their own designated buckets. Otherwise it becomes a round robin event with the herd queen pushing everyone ahead of her as she rotates to each bucket after every mouthful because obviously the next bucket will taste better/different. So they pair off and I make them stay with whatever bucket they end up at when I've finished "setting the table".
