What are things to always have on hand?

What are some medicines/remedies that you always have at your home/farm? What do you use them for?

different stuff in paste form... pro-biotic, Bs .. both of those if someone looks funky, or after worming, or before or after kidding.

Also in paste Selenium with E and D since I live where I do, monthly dose .. copper pills about once every 6 months

I have calcium for around kidding time, also a kid puller. Also a goat only thermometer.

I have suture and needles. .. and super glue both to close wounds.

I have Shriner's herbal stuff...love their stuff. Made for horses, but they have great sprays to help wounds heal, and for rain rot, etc.

Then all hoof care. Bottle of hoof rot stuff, pick, trimmers, and rasp.

oh, and dewormer.

Always on Heating pad, easy to wash fleace blanket, and baby bottles for kids if they need it.

I also have anti-biotic eye ointment... had from other stuff... used it once on the goats.

ask a local vet... or an experienced local goat person.

Not enough copper is easier to tell.. hair can get patchy, hair color can be off, etc.

Selenium is not always as clear. It can make them have silent heat, more likely to abort, and kids when born can have leg issues.

If you need Selenium and copper depends on the local soils. I like to also add D since no critter up here gets sunlight for 6 months out of the year. (I am at latitude 59)
