I came over here from BYC in hopes for some help, Anyway, I bought this girl about a month ago at auction she hasn't changed in size as she was already really big when I got her. Shes very healthy, but I'm really wondering about this pregnancy. I checked today and she finally has some milk. It barely squirts when pinched and she is NOT fully bagged up. She did not have any milk 5 days ago.

She is really huge and looks like she is going to explode! Twins? Triplets? lol. She has yet to separate from part of the heard of others or anything.
Any guesses from the experts out there as to how much longer before she starts to kid?

If you think you have a good idea as to when would you tell me what signs you are going by in the photos that gives it away so as to help me in the future? I cant check her spine by feeling because she really hasn't warmed up to me much yet. I've only had her a month.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE TX! So glad you joined us. Nice looking herd you have there. I've only enjoyed 2 kidding seasons myself. Just finished this season with 5 boys & 5 girls. She doesn't look "that close" to me but looks can be deceiving. I don't suppose you know if she's a first freshener (first pregnancy) or not? She doesn't look swollen and has no leakage that I can see. She looks pregnant, but not all that large... If you browse through some of the journals or kidding threads, you'll see some REALLY fat/pregnant does :ep There's also lots of pics of does right before kidding you can look at to compare. Sorry it took a while for response, but it's a weekday and many aren't on during the day. Tags have already been posted as well for some great goat folks. Good luck for a successful kidding! Hope you'll share some pics when the time comes.

There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Thank you for the great response.. Judging by the bag she already had when I got her I do NOT think she is a first timer.

I will add my location!

She doesn't look like a first freshener to me either. But as such, her udder should be a fairly good indicator of her progress. I would watch that udder and definitely check her ligaments as she gets closer.
Good luck - I hope she does well for you!

I agree, doesn't look like a FF. It's hard to tell when they'll go though. I have an Alpine I got at the end of February, she had a bag on her with milk, so I expected soon...
Her bag and belly have grown, but she still hasn't kidded. I'd say yours has at least a month, if not longer, to go yet. Then again, they are sneaky and I had a doe that wasn't really bagged up at all, pulled her in the barn just in case because we were going to get snow, and came out to new babies the next morning.o_O
