We will be listing several Lamancha & Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats after the State Fair
Our State Fair is Oct 19-21st

We had planned on selling a few goats but have decided that we will be reducing our herd by half.
The 9 months of rain and the effects of the hurricane have left us with an enormous mess.
Reducing our numbers will be necessary for the land to heal itself without as much hoof traffic.

We will have show potential as well as homestead family milkers.

Vet certificates for out of state buyers will be the buyers responsibility.
Tested whole herd for CAE, Johnes, CL

We also have several bucklings for sale (Nigerian)

We will update milk test info as we can.
Several does have met requirements for their stars and some have met all 3 categories (Eligible for AR)

Thanks @Hens and Roos we had placed all the ones we were planning to except for the few we saved out for state fair... but this land is making things impossible.

We can understand that @Southern by choice, although we haven't gotten close to what you have in rain, we have had more then we usually get and it is causing the ground to stay wet/muddy...we are forecasted to get rain over the next 10 days here and it's raining now. This year has been difficult for those making hay to get it dry enough and baled before getting rained on...not sure how it will play out for us as we have to buy all our hay.

We had to cut our numbers in half earlier this year because it's easier to do that than make grass grow on land we don't have. :) Good luck to you but your animals I don't think luck is needed.
Thanks Mike, the hay issue has been really hard on us this year. That and the never ending rain is just too much.

I hate to hear that. I wish you good luck in finding good homes for the animals.

Thanks.
The hardest part is the adult goats. Very hard when you have that bond. At the same time so far each one has gone to really good people that want to do more with goats so that makes me happy.
You know how it is, you retain but also know in the future some will leave. :( I am happy with our herd and want to continue doing good things with them. We are also limiting who we breed this year. I am OK with taking a year off. Some we will milk through and others we are just leaving open this year. I also need to bring in a lamancha buck next year so this allows me to focus.

It will help me get to my goals so I am trying to be very positive. My favorite goats just aren't always the keeper goats.
