We live in Wisconsin and get a lot of snow. We have mesh electric fence from Premier Fence and they said if we get more that a few inches of snow that we should not have it hot because it will short out. It is off right now and they are starting to climb through and get out. My question is can I use an electric cattle prod to zap them and get them to think it's hot? Thoughts?

Thanks
Kathy

They'll probably learn to associate that zap with you....

Put up a few strands of bare electric wires 2 inches in front of the mesh.
can I connect it to the original electrical outlet? Meaning, I have my mesh elec fence but can I attach the wire thing to that?

You probably need a permanent woven wire fence, due to the snow you have. Put a hot wire on top of the permanent fence. Do NOT use welded wire, it is crap. You would need sheep and goat woven wire or non climb horse wire.

Before you proceed one bit further, Please define "original electrical outlet"!
