Ugh, I had the most frustrating night last night...

I finally got the 4 brown wools spun up and made a hat... only to bind off a little too late and ran out of yarn with about 10 stitches left... So, I have 2 lbs of raw wool, I will try washing some tonight to make about 2 feet of yarn so I can finish the darn hat!

The yarn I used, went from darkest to lightest (top to bottom)

Hat in progress with only 2 colors so far. My oh so sophisticated stitch markers (rubber bands) and all.

Got the hat done! Managed to not felt the wool I washed (didn't get it all the way clean either though).
Finished hat

Now I am spinning that black Jacob's wool into fairly thick singles to use for Nalbinding (ancient predecessor to knitting, used with short lengths of wool yarn and a big flat sewing needle). Trying to figure out what I want to make. Probably going to make a smallish bag first since I can just make a tube (haven't figured out how to reverse and do a flat object yet) and then sew the bottom closed and add a drawstring (made with a lucet braid) at the top to close it.

Beauty hat! Good job! Are you going to find out how to make pompoms to put one on the top? A white poof on the top would be splendid, but it's also a really great hat just the way it is. Probably more elegant without the pompom, but I'm not known for elegance.

Will there be pictures of the yarn for nalbinding?

Nah, not doing a pompom, I'm a pretty minimalist type of gal.

I don't know if I have any pictures of the black single ply yarn, but here is the bag I made with it.

I got a TON of fiber for Christmas and just bought more

I'm seriously thinking about getting a spinning wheel, the one I want will be about $800 and they are backordered right now.

I spun these up on my spindle and gave them to my mom for Christmas. She has requested 1 more to finish her hat so I need to spin that up, maybe this weekend.
