What?
The NY seller is the iffy place I decided to run from.
VA place is where we'll go look at bull calves.

They both sound sketchy.

"Seems that me posting new ISO ads got them a little worried?
They have calves for us to choose from when we visit, and told which days, but then whenever we're ready.
Hoping to go in early June to choose one."

Why would a seller be tracking a potential buyer like that? It's odd. Also why are they suddenly fine with any day you want to come when they have put you off because of.....rain which agreed is weird. When I sell livestock I'm not watching what my potential buyers are doing, even though I have stumbled across ISO ads from people I have talked to as potential customers. I'm just saying the situation seems kind of odd.

They were tagged repeatedly, they weren't following me on purpose.
And their reasoning behind canceling made sense. I wouldn't want to show sheep in the rain and mud, so I simply never allow tours to begin with.
It was always any day we wanted, but they told me which soonest dates worked best for them. Told them husband's schedule & that he wanted to pick one, and they understood why the other days were no good.
They come highly recommended, most people who have zebu in the area have theirs, too. Personally know a fellow Babydoll breeder that has two of their calves.
I'm obviously leaving out a lot of info in these posts. Honestly, I'm half*ssing this thread. Sorry.

There are many reasons why one may want a zebu breed instead of taurine breed, but why would you want a puny cow?
Lots of people want Puny cows!! If you do not have much land small cows are good. Most places here you can only have livestock on land you own so big cows eat to much for some land.

Don't you have empty lands, fallow land, government land, communal pastures designated by government, cemeteries etc?

What about the nomads? Where do they graze their animals? Our nomads have no land of their own and they keep livestock in their hundreds.

In part of the western US there is a thing called range lands but there is conflicts and the the range pasture is very poor or has no food. Half of the rangeland is owned by private people now not the government. Even where the government owns the rangeland you can not use some of it because of local town/city rules. In most of the county you have to buy land to put your animals on.

Sometimes people will have goats graze in old cemeteries but people here do not like it. If other livestock was allowed to graze in cemeteries people would get very upset.

We do not have nomads that own livestock in the US as far as I know. Things are very different here, you can not walk livestock down roads in 99% of the us, you can not have your livestock on property other people own, you can not have livestock in most all towns and cities. In fact if your animals go on property owned by other people the government can come take your animals away and say you can not have animals ever again.

They want animals behind fences on your land and for them to stay behind the fence. Some people are getting better and wanting things different but the majority of people her want to live in cities and never see animals except at cute farms to pet them for a couple hours. Even some who do not live in cities want everything to look perfect on their property so do not want any animals on it.

Rangelands also sort of fell out of favor because of people stealing livestock. This is about rangeland and has information on the us rangeland...which you have to pay to use.
